Teacher Dashboard (LF Dashboard)

Teacher Dashboard (LF Dashboard)

The Teacher Dashboard (aka the LF Dashboard) is a tool for teachers to see key information about an individual class, or all classes at once. There are many tiles on the dashboard, as you will see below. All tiles are dynamic, and can get to the individual student level (see below for detailed descriptions and screenshots of each).

In addition, these tiles can be drag-and-dropped in any order/rotation the teacher wants.

Our first example of the Dashboard will be focused on the view of ONE CLASS as opposed to all classes.

Single class view

Pacing

The first thing you'll see when on the Teacher Dashboard is a tile for pacing. In the above example, we have the following columns: Student Name, Pacing Status, Expected %, Actual %, # Moves.

1. Student Name: name of the student
2. Pacing Status: behind pace, on pace, ahead of pace
3. Expected %: what percentage of the expected growth towards meeting a 3.0 or higher on each proficiency scale in the course (NOTE: requires a course playlist)
4. Actual %: what percentage of growth towards meeting a 3.0 or higher on each proficiency scale in the course (NOTE: here is how pacing is calculated)
5. # Moves: this column tells how many "moves" a student has made in the last five school days. A "move" is a half-point of growth on an overall score on ANY proficiency scale assigned to that course.

This tile is searchable (see the "search" field in the upper-right of the tile). You can also go to a student's homepage by clicking on the student picture on the left of the tile.

Learner Celebrations

The next tile is about learner celebrations. This reflects any badging that has been set up by the school/district.

Each one of the individual parts of this tile can be clicked on to find out more information about the students and their earned badges.

Learner Pacing

The next tile shows a bar chart of percentages of learners that are behind pace, on pace, and ahead of pace for teachers to view in a quick glance. Hovering over each section of the bar gives more information about the learners and the percentage of students at each pacing level. Clicking on the bars gives individual student data about their pacing progress.

Scrolling down further, another row of tiles appears.

Learner Review

The Learner Review section is a quick view of learner progress, including the following columns: Student Name, Login, Missing, Submitted, #>3.0, Medals, and Goals.

1. Student Name: name of the student
2. Login: How many times the learner has logged in to the Empower platform (in the last five school days)
3. Missing: how many missing assignments each learner currently has (NOTE: these are evidences marked "missing" by the teacher)
4. Submitted: how many pieces of evidence have been submitted by each learner through the Empower platform (in the last five school days)
5. #>3.0: how many proficiency scales have been scored above a 3.0 (NOTE: these are overall scores, NOT evidence scores)
6. Medals: how many medals have been earned by learners (in the last five school days) (NOTE: see Learner Celebrations above)
7. Goals: how many goals have been created and achieved by the learners

Each item in these columns is clickable for more specific information.

Learners with LT Score Moves

The next tile shows a bar chart of percentages of learners that have made any "moves" (in the last five school days) for teachers to view in a quick glance (options are zero, one, two, or three + moves). Hovering over each section of the bar gives more information about the learners and the percentage of students at each move level. Clicking on the bars gives individual student data about their moves.

NeedsList Manager

If any needs lists have been setup by the teacher, they will appear here.

The next and final section has two tiles: Key Demographic info and Test Scores.

Key Demographic info

This tile has information for teachers about their learners that have key demographics such as: IEP, Migrant Status, Dual Language learners, ELL learners, Homeless learners, FS learners (free and reduced learners), and 504 learners.

This is used for informational purposes only to alert the teacher of potential things to think about when instructing and assessing.

This tile is only populated if your SIS sends this information along to Empower (some SIS's do not do this).

Test Scores

This tile will show any external test scores that the school/district decides to upload into Empower. These are also part of the Learning Profile.

In this example, you see the SBAC tests (both Math and ELA), the CAST test (California Science Test), the ELPAC test (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California), the NSGRA test (Next Step Guided Reading Assessment), and two different Lexile level assessments (I-Ready and NWEA).

These fields depend on which external assessments your school/district decides to upload to Empower.
